The agenda to ensure value addition and finding markets for local agricultural produce was the main thrust at the Mberengwa Agricultural Show.

The recently held Mberengwa Agricultural show saw communal farmers displaying an array of products under the cropping and livestock categories.

The more than 400 farmers who are also doing food processing of different agricultural products were reminded by Mberengwa South legislator, Cde Chiratidzo Iris Mabuwa that value addition and finding markets to sell their products is a government priority.

Senior Agritex officer in the area, Mr Jonathan Gambiza emphasized the importance of continuing to target more production as a food security drive.

The produce on display included crops such as cow peas, groundnuts, maize, small grains, vegetables and fruits.

The livestock category had poultry and different animals.
